Surface Preparation of Steel Girders for Painting

Nottingham Train Station

Nottingham’s main Train Station embarked upon a refurbishment project to revitalise their tired looking painted steel girders which support the station’s roof.

The train station is a listed building and as such great care was required to maintain the original character and integrity of the building.

Working from an elevated platform and using Ultra High Pressure (UHP) water jetting techniques @ 40000 psi we were able to remove years of rust, paint, dirt, grease and other debris from the steel girders supporting the roof.

The steel surface was stripped back all the way to the original face ready for painting and finishing.
